How the community keeps the site trustworthy
One rule sits above the rest: an entry anchored to a specific room number and one real guest photo. Everything else follows from that.
This page is a working draft. The principles below restate rules from the approved Knowledge document, but the specific wording here was newly written during the Stage 3 redesign. Staging-only and search-engine-blocked until Aki approves the final text.
The one non-negotiable
Every contribution is anchored to a specific room (number or, where the hotel has none, an exact category name) and a photograph taken from that room. No photo, no entry. "Nice hotel, great views" is on every other site — that isn't what we're building.
Yes, please
- Room-level specificity. "Room 3515, floor 3, end of wing" is exactly the entry we want. So is a wing/floor line ("rooms ending 14/15 on floors 2–3 get the chapel view too").
- Your own photograph. Taken by you, or someone who has given you permission to share. Cropping and brightness are fine; edits that change what the camera saw are not.
- Honest drawbacks. If the room has noise, an obstruction, a season-dependent quirk — say so. That's the most useful part of the entry.
- Practical request wording. The exact phrase you'd use if you were emailing the hotel to ask. Real request wording is the single most valuable thing you can share.
No, thank you
- Marketing photos from the hotel website. If it isn't your own view, it doesn't belong on a room page.
- Reviews of the hotel in general. There are dozens of sites for that; this one is for the room.
- Fake or exaggerated claims. Small community, tight quality bar — one bad entry does more damage than ten missing ones.
- Content that could identify staff or other guests. Views out of the window only, never into another room.
Verified vs Compiled — the labels you'll see
- Compiled guide. Assembled from publicly available traveller reports and hotel information. No verified guest stay yet. The hero image is a labelled context image, never a fake guest photograph.
- Partially verified. One or more real guest contributions exist. Verified rooms appear as their own cards with real photos, notes and request wording.
- Community verified. The strongest state — multiple independent contributors have confirmed a consistent view pattern. A separate "community consensus" summary appears above the individual rooms.
Every label reflects real data. The state upgrades automatically as contributions accumulate; nothing is ever hand-set to look busier than it is.
Reporting a problem
Every page has a "Report a correction" link at the bottom. If a room has changed, if a photo isn't right, or if a claim doesn't match your own stay — tell us. We act promptly and confirm when it's done.
